Valen is a dynamic business with an established name providing energy storage solutions, combining quality batteries and technical expertise to provide energy storage solutions across Australia and New Zealand. The primary purpose of this role is to achieve Valen’s revenue and profit targets through the management of the existing sales team. The position is part of Valen’s Leadership Team and will be responsible for the sales strategy for the business.

  • Reporting to the General Manager, the Head of Sales has the opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of the entire business in a rapidly growing market.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the company’s sales strategy in line with the overall company Strategy and Budget.
  • Develop the sales team focused on delivering the required revenue and growth targets. Ensure the sales team have all the necessary tools, resources and training to enable them to carry out the sales strategy. A strong mentoring experience and orientation towards the team will be required in this role.
  • Strategise with the Management Team about markets, prospects, profitability and the activities that generate new business.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales, revenue and profit forecasts. Be a brand ambassador and reflect company values at all times.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of organisational processes.
  • Other duties as required.


About the Candidate
  • Can show sales management experience in a technical sales or similar role is preferred (though not essential)
  • Shown to have successfully developed and managed a high-performing sales team.
  • Experienced with setting targets, performance plans and accountability for a sales team.
  • Results-driven with a commercial focus.
